Dad charged with stabbing son on Father’s Day


    A 59-year-old man has been granted bail for allegedly stabbing his son on Father’s Day.

    Around 4:30pm on Sunday, the victim reportedly pushed his father during a disagreement at their home on Toni Ravine Road, Lopinot.

    He walked away but was allegedly followed by his father who hit him with a stone, pushed him to the ground and and pushed him to the stabbed him on the left side of his body.

    The victim was taken to the Arima Hospital by relatives and the suspect surrendered to police shortly after.

    Parish Rahim appeared virtually before Senior Magistrate Brambhanan Dubay at the Arima Court today, charged with wounding with intent.

    He was granted $60,000 bail.
