COVID-19 vaccination required for applicants for certain US Visas

Starting October 1st 2021, immigrant visa, K-visa, and non-immigrant visa applicants recommended for a medical exam will be required to obtain full COVID-19 vaccination.

This requirement however does not apply to non-immigrant visa classes such as tourist or student visas.

According to the US Embassy, this is in accordance with a new policy from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

It says some waivers may be available in countries where a COVID-19 vaccine is not routinely available, or if the vaccine is not age appropriate.

It adds that unlike other required vaccinations, applicants must complete the entire vaccine series for the medical examination to be considered complete.
