Just over one week into May and T&T has recorded almost the same number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in all of April.
During a presentation by Epidemiologist Dr Avery Hinds at today’s Health Ministry media briefing, it was revealed that April had 2,798 cases while, as of yesterday, May had already recorded 2,531.
According to Dr Hinds, officials expect the case count for this month to top that of April.
Meanwhile, Principal Medical Officer Dr Maryam Abdool-Richards revealed that a fourth level of COVID-19 health care has been created, in between the hospital and a patient’s home.
As such, more beds have been added to the parallel health care system.
Dr Richards notes that persons must continue adhering to public health regulations.
