Couva South MP voices concerns about crime in the area

Couva South MP Rudy Indarsingh says he is concerned by recent criminal activity in the area and in Central Trinidad in general.

Just yesterday, a suspected carjacker was shot and killed by police during a chase along the Solomon Hochoy Highway in Couva.

MP Indarsingh also recounted a recent robbery at a liquor mart in Basta Hall and a shooting incident in which three persons were wounded in California.

He has since questioned how the TTPS intends to deal with crime in the area, especially in light of the impact of COVID-19.

Mr. Indarsingh has called on National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds and the wider TTPS to take steps to restore a sense of security for residents.
