CoP: Most missing persons return home; police plead with “chronic runaways”

Between 90 and 95% of persons reported missing are persons who left home and did not want to be found, according to the Police Commissioner.

Mr Gary Griffith today revealed these statistics but reiterated that it is not meant to trivialize the issue of missing persons.

However, he underlined that, in past years, most individuals reported missing return home.

Meanwhile, Deputy Police Commissioner Mc Donald Jacob called on persons he deemed “chronic runaways” and their families to deal with any issues at hand, in a bid to avoid them going missing.
