While the weather is gradually improving, there is still a chance of heavy rainfall today.
This update comes from the TT MET Service which reminds that a Yellow Level Adverse Weather Alert is in effect until 6pm today.
It says there has been some improvement over Trinidad and substantially improvement over Tobago.
Despite this, there is still a 60% chance of moderate to heavy rainfall and the lower chance of an isolated thunderstorm for Trinidad over the course of the day.
It warns that additional rainfall may further exacerbate the localized flooding currently being experienced in some areas.
Also, while levels in the main river courses continue to be contained at this time, there is a chance that tributaries and smaller river courses can overflow their banks.
Landslips are also possible in prone areas, while gusty winds in excess of 45 km/hr may accompany heavy showers or thunderstorms.
