Construction of the Marabella Boys and Girls Anglican Primary School is expected to resume soon.
According to a Guardian report, this assurance was given by San Fernando West MP Faris Al-Rawi at a recent meeting with parents.
Building of the facility started in 2014 under the Peoples’ Partnership administration but stopped in 2015.
The students were relocated to the St Paul’s Anglican Primary School however parents complained that conditions were unsafe, unsanitary and uncomfortable.
Last week, parents engaged in a demonstration calling for construction of the school to be completed.
At the meeting, Mr Al Rawi explained to the parents that the project was halted amid alleged corruption and a lack of finances.
He however assured that $400 million has been borrowed to pay contractors, including the one working on the Marabella school project.
