Commissioner defends police after Santa Cruz killings

    Residents’ defense of two persons who were shot dead by police in Santa Cruz has sparked a response from the Police Commissioner.

    In a media release, Gary Griffith took aim at comments that innocent people who were killed.

    He says the deceased tried to killed his officers and provided a photo showing bullet marks on the police vehicle he claims was used in the exercise.

    Mr Griffith says persons are willing to speak out against officers but not when gang members commit murder.

    The top cop reiterated that, “Anyone who aims a weapon or shoot at my officers, they have my full support and directive to do what is required to neutralize the threat and they did.”
