Some persons are refusing to be swabbed for the COVID-19 test but the CMO says persons can still be quarantined under law.

Today, at the Health Ministry’s media briefing, Dr Roshan Parasram noted a slight reduction in swabbing nationally, down to around 400-500 per day.

However, he acknowledged that this may be a consequence of less viral illnesses showing up.

Dr Parasram says the swab is voluntary but quarantine and isolation provide a backup plan for persons who refuse it.
