Chief Medical Officer Dr Roshan Parasram has explained why the 18 cases added to this country’s COVID-19 tally today, were not all from samples taken in the last 24 hours.
This was noted in the Health Ministry’s update released this morning.
Dr Parasram says the results would have come during the week from the UWI lab.
Those results he adds, would have been forwarded to the Trinidad Public Health Lab and the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) for confirmation.
Dr Parasram then explained how this has changed the way the stats are being presented.
Dr Parasram says an epidemiological update will be presented next week to show local trends and the curve for T&T.
Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh was notably absent from this morning’s Health Briefing.
