T&T’s 2021 Dry Season is expected to be wetter than average as a phenomenon called ‘La Nina’ impacts the region.
This is according to Met Office Climatologist Kenneth Kerr who gave the seasonal forecast today at the National Climate Outlook Forum.
La Niña is the cold phase of the El Niño-Southern Oscillation cycle and usually enhances dry season rainfall in T&T.
This, according to Mr Kerr, is expected in 2021.
Mr Kerr notes, however, there will still be lots of sunshine in the dry season.
Mr Kerr says there are expected to be 90 dry days in 2021 compared with 109 in a normal dry season.
