City policeman and companion arrested for marijuana possession


    A city police officer is among two persons arrested for allegedly being in possession of more than the allowed quantity of marijuana.

    According to the amendment to the Dangerous Drugs Act, persons are allowed to have 30 grams of marijuana, five grams of cannabis resin and four plants per adult.

    However, according to a release from the TTPS, the constable attached to the Port of Spain City Police as well as his female companion were found with 515 grams.

    The discovery was made during a search of a residence in Big Yard, Carenage around 6:10am today.

    The 21-year-old and 22-year-old are due to appear virtually before a judge tomorrow.
