Chinese woman bound and beaten in Port of Spain supermarket robbery


    A Chinese national who was bound and beaten during a supermarket robbery has been rescued and a suspect arrested.

    Early this morning, police received a report of robbery at the grocery at the corner of George and Prince Streets, Port of Spain.

    On arrival, they chased a group of individuals who escaped through the Plannings and recovered a 44-inch TV which was said to be missing from the business place.

    Officers returned to the grocery and rescued the Chinese woman.

    Based on additional information, a 28-year-old woman of Upper Layan Hill, Belmont was arrested in connection with the robbery.
