Charles: Why aren’t police anticipating gang crimes

A UNC MP is questioning why police are unable to anticipate gang members’ actions.

Naparima representative Rodney Charles is of the belief that two men who killed a taxi driver yesterday were known to police.

He wants to know why gang members’ murderous ways are not being stemmed, even with existing gang units and the intelligence service, the SSA.

Mr Charles also questioned Government’s faith in legislation such as the Anti-Gang Act.

He claims there is a growing tide of gang related murders and law bringing harsher penalties is not working.
