An agreement has been signed by the Caribbean Telecommunications Union to help expand internet access in the region.

CTU, in a media release, says it has joined forces with the Alliance for Affordable Internet and this collaboration will include efforts to support governments in modernising policy to achieve meaningful and affordable connectivity.

According to union Secretary General Rodney Taylor, while activities online have increased during the COVID-19 pandemic, many Caribbean citizens still lack the needed quality of internet access.

He believes the partnership agreed to with the Alliance, will accelerate their steps towards the goal of making internet more affordable.
