Caribbean Airlines’ inaugural Boeing 737-8 flight made the trip from Piarco International Airport to Jamaica today.
CAL held a brief ceremony in Piarco this morning to launch the new aircraft which it says offers “exceptional levels of convenience and comfort.”
According to the airline, the addition of the aircraft to its fleet is part of its 2022 marketing campaign and coincides with its 15th anniversary.
CEO Garvin Medera says the plane has lower fuel and maintenance costs and has 160 seats – 10 more than its predecessor.
He says it also comes with upgraded technology and higher comfort levels in both business class and economy cabin, including in-seat power for mobile devices.
