Caribbean Airlines partnered with the Airports Authority, the National Carnival Commission and Tourism Trinidad Limited to welcome arriving visitors at the Piarco International Airport on Wednesday.
The airline said it is part of its recently launched ‘Caribbean Identity’ campaign, which featured music and live entertainment by Caribbean Airlines Skiffle Steel Orchestra and emcee Hypeman Patrick Anthony.
There were also traditional carnival characters, complimentary corn soup, Carnival care-packages and a chance for visitors to win tickets courtesy CAL and the NCC.
CAL CEO Garvin Medera who led the team stated that the airlines wanted its customers to experience the spirit of carnival on arrival at Piarco, and added that CAL will also partners with Carnivals and festivals throughout the region soon.
For the two-week period leading up to and after Carnival, Cal is expected to operate over 250 international and regional flights, bringing over 30,000 passengers into this country.
