Caribbean Airlines says its Cargo freighter flights and ground transport trucking services are continuing to move cargo between the United States and the Caribbean.
It believes this is an essential service for businesses to ship pharmaceuticals and restock dwindling supplies locally and regionally.
It is also offering a barrel and e-container special out of New York, Fort Lauderdale and Miami to Kingston, Guyana, Barbados and Trinidad to allow persons to ship care packages to their families.
CAL meanwhile says its cargo operations are being guided by the CDC’s recommendations for ‘Preventing Spread of Disease on Commercial Aircraft’.
This included regular cleaning of all aircraft using disinfectant deemed effective against COVID-19, use of HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Arrestors) aircraft filtration systems which filters 99.97% of dust particles and airborne contaminants, and limiting access to aircraft to only personnel that are required for the safe loading/offloading.
