In its own effort to protect the environment, traditional ‘doggy bags’ at one Chaguanas restaurant may become a thing of the past.
Woodford Café, located at Price Plaza Chaguanas, has announced via its social media pages that it will give a five per cent discount on customers’ bills when they bring their own reusable to-go containers.
It comes as the country moves into an era of replacing expandable polystyrene [aka Styrofoam] food and beverage products, with more eco-friendly options.
In January 2020, the importation of Styrofoam products will be banned and six months later, the local manufacturing of these food and beverage products will cease.
Meanwhile Woodford Café, in a Facebook post, says its discount is not available on already discounted specials.
