Bar Owners call for clarification of regulations

The Barkeepers and Operators Association of T&T is calling on the Attorney General and the Police Commissioner to clarify the public health ordinance as it relates to parties on a private property.

The Association points out an incident last month, in which 32 persons were arrested at a private house in Valsayn and were subsequently charged and granted station bail.

It also insists that bars, once not open to the general public, are considered private property, yet persons have also been arrested and charged with absolutely no hesitation or warning by the TTPS.

BOATT is calling for immediate clarification, saying the right of citizens as enshrined in the constitution applies to all, and not only a particular percentage of society.
