Bars are now in a position where they need government’s monetary intervention, according to the Bar Keepers and Operators Association.
103.1FM News spoke with its President Teron Mohan who says sales have dropped since COVID-19 restrictions limited bars to takeaway services.
He believes now is the time for the state’s financial support.
Mr Mohan also took issue with the view that drinking alcohol would inhibit a person’s ability to follow COVID-19 regulations.
Mr Mohan says bars have set the example during the pandemic and will continue to do so.
