A 40-year-old Bon Accord man was granted $100,000 bail when he appeared in court charged with rape and two counts of grievous sexual assault.

He stood before Scarborough Magistrate Jo-Anne Connor yesterday and is scheduled to reappear on November 17th.

Around 10am on October 14th, a 20-year old woman boarded a white Nissan Tiida in the vicinity of the Port Mall, Scarborough and asked to be taken to Gulf City Mall, Lowlands.

She and the driver exited at the mall around 10:25am and returned to the vehicle around 10:35am.

She asked to be taken to Scarborough and the driver allegedly informed her that he had to collect an item a short distance away at his home in Lowlands.

He invited the female passenger inside and offered her an alcoholic beverage which she accepted and drank.

Shortly after, the driver allegedly removed her clothing and sexually assaulted her.
