Improved protection from COVID-19 for workers must be afforded under law, according to the Amalgamated Workers Union.
In a media release, it calls out restaurants which started preparing food to be sold at groceries and other locations, after the order to stop operations.
The union says this plan placed workers and the public at greater risk.
It believes there is a widespread refusal of companies to accept their losses and claims workers continue to gather and circulate beyond what is deemed safe.
The organization says there must be stricter adherence to worker protections and more respect for employees and unions.
