Another month of COVID-19 restrictions announced, only two changes made

    COVID-19 restrictions will continue for another month and only two changes have been announced by the Prime Minister.

    At a media Conference this afternoon, Dr Keith Rowley revealed the following that a new arrangement will be attached to the latest set of regulations for 12, 18 and 24-seater maxis.

    This new format will increase the capacity these vehicles are allowed to transport.

    The other change in the regulations involves public sector employees who have to contribute in compiling the 2021 National Budget due to be presented on October 5th 2020.

    Dr Rowley says, “Other than that, all the arrangements remain in place.”

    There will be a review of the situation by September 28th but as of now, he says the public health regulations will continue until October 11th.

    Meanwhile, the Prime Minister announced that a hefty dent has been made in the local economy by the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Dr Rowley says the WHO estimate for global losses due to COVID-19 sits around US$375bn per month.
