Another COVID death takes toll to 121; 19 new cases reported


    An elderly man has died due to COVID-19 taking the country’s death toll from the virus to 121.

    This is according to the Health Ministry’s daily update which also reports 19 new cases that take the active count to 740.

    The new patients will be processed for admission at the discretion of County Medical Officers.

    Seven persons have been discharged by public health facilities while 29 community cases have recovered.

    44 patients are in hospital, 26 are in step-down facilities, 186 are in the care of the prison system and 465 are in home isolation.

    There are 252 persons in state quarantine.

    Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 6,704 cases and 5,843 recoveries.
