There are still almost 7,000 requests for exemptions by citizens seeking to re-enter Trinidad and Tobago.
This was revealed today by National Security Minister Stuart Young, during a media breifing held by the Prime Minister.
As of December 4th, there were 15,471 applications to re-enter T&T, of which 8,500 had been granted.
That leaves 6,971 applications still to be dealt with.
Minister Young adds that efforts will continue to be made to repatriate persons.
As for those leaving T&T, as of December 4th, there were 18,458 applications of which 10,760 were granted.
T&T’s borders were officially closed on March 22nd 2020.
There has been no decision yet on when they will re-open.
