There have been a total of 638 gang related murders since 2015.
The figure was revealed by Attorney General Faris Al Rawi speaking on the Bail Amendment Bill in Parliament this afternoon.
He stated that Government is pushing forward with the Bill since they believe it will help to arrest criminal elements in society.
The AG says he was informed by the Top Cop that one criminal was recently linked to 47 murders, and believes this could’ve been prevented if the Bail Bill was in effect.
In addition to this the AG says 6,387 firearms have been seized since 2009, but says that it was only until 2017 that sub machine guns were founds by the police service.
He claims that under the People’s Partnership Government, more arrests to the anti-gang act were made since the bill was in effect.
Mr Al Rawi also indicated that there have been over 17,000 firearm related offences since 2009.
