Attorney General Faris Al Rawi says the Opposition’s only input to reduce crime has been to oppose almost every measure brought by Government.
Speaking about the Bail Amendment Bill which will be presented to be Parliament tomorrow, Mr Al Rawi says the TTPS has asked for the matter to be treated with some urgency to be able to fight crime.
But the AG says Government has continuously seen a challenge with the Opposition, which he claims provides no legitimate justification for not supporting the bill.
Mr Al Rawi says the Police Service has asked for this bill to deal with bail restrictions for anti-gang offences, which he says is critical to fighting crime.
