Assistant Police Commissioner Irwin Hackshaw has been suspended with immediate effect as the Police Commissioner has received the final report from PCA.

In a media release sent this morning, Mr Gary Griffith says prior to today, the PCA made suggestions on disciplinary action based on an initial report into allegations of usual financial transactions.

However, he says now that a recommendation that “a criminal offence may have been committed”, Mr Hackshaw can be suspended.

Mr Griffith says the TTPS is having consultations with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and is awaiting further advice.

He notes that an investigator will be appointed.
