A police officer is among 71 persons ticketed for not wearing a face mask during a birthday party held in Chaguanas.
The event was also shut down early this morning by officers of the Central Division Task Force.
Around 11:45pm on Saturday, police received information that persons were convening contrary to the Public Health Ordinance Regulations.
A team went to the venue, where they observed several persons, many without masks, participating in the event.
The officers stopped the event and issued 71 fixed penalty notices for failure to wear masks in a public space.
Patrons are also expected to be charged by summons for convening the Public Health Regulations.
The owner of the establishment may also face a third charge for allowing the event to take place on his premises.
According to the TTPS, a popular artist performed for guests at the party.
