Seven men have been charged with breaching the COVID-19 Regulations after they were caught in a bar in Penal.
Yesterday morning, police went to the establishment at Goodman Trace Junction, Penal Rock Road, where they observed a number of persons seated within the premises consuming alcoholic beverages.
Six of the men have been charged with breaching Regulation 2(a) of the Public Health Ordinance – this stipulates that public gatherings are not to exceed five persons.
The seventh man was charged with conducting the business of a bar during the specified period and providing the amenity of seated accommodation at a restaurant and bar to customers.
All are due to appear virtually before a Siparia Magistrate today.
