Five persons have been arrested following investigations into two reports of larceny in Claxton Bay last month.
On September 2nd, a company reported the theft of 23 vehicle batteries and 160 feet of 16-gauge cable from its compound.
There was also a second report of 467 feet of 16-gauge cable and 400 feet of cable missing from another compound belonging to the same company.
Following investigations, an anti-crime exercise was conducted in the St. Margaret’s district between 3am and 12:30pm yesterday, during which time a quantity of partially burnt cable and 22 vehicle batteries were recovered.
The five suspects are between the ages of 21 and 35, and are from Claxton Bay and Princes Town.
