42 errant motorists in South Trinidad were ticketed for poor road safety practices.
Road safety and regulation exercises were conducted yesterday in Guapo, Fyzabad and Cedros.
30 tickets were issued for speeding, three for no children’s booster seats, and nine for other offences including failing to wear seatbelts, having no horns, defective tyres and damaged registration plates.
Police Commissioner Gary Griffith warns that there will be a heightened police presence to reinforce road safety practices.
According to the TTPS, there has been a 25% decrease in fatal road traffic accidents as compared to the same period last year.
