A 39-year-old taxi driver has been granted $40,000 bail after appearing in court on assault charges.
The accused has some bail conditions however: he must stay one mile away from the alleged victim and report to a police station once per week.
He is due to reappear in court on March 29th, 2023.
According to police, on October 1st, 2022, a woman was seated in her vehicle when her husband allegedly took a wrench and damaged the door, assaulted her and took her cell phone.
The incident was reported to police and the Special Victims Unit investigated the matter, leading to the arrest and charge of the male suspect.
