400 acres of agricultural land in Chatham will be operationalised in 2023 for the Youth Agricultural Homestead Programme.
This is according to the line ministry for the programme, the Ministry of Youth Development.
It will see the lands upgraded with starter homes, roads, drainage, access infrastructure and more for 180 successful students of the programme.
When fully functional, these lands will produce a yield of 360 acres.
The Ministry says the land for the programme was provided by Petrotrin and the development process will be facilitated by the Land Settlement Agency.
