$250,000 worth of perishable goods was recovered today, as police arrested four persons for obtaining the items under false pretences.
Around 9am, a team of officers went to the Malabar Industrial Estate where they intercepted two trucks with four occupants.
The occupants then led police to a location in Caroni where they recovered the perishable items.
The goods were paid for using a cheque that was subsequently found by the bank to be fraudulent.
The men were allegedly returning today to purchase additional items when they were intercepted and arrested by police.
