Three COVID-19 related deaths have been recorded over the last 24 hours, along with 46 new cases of the virus.

This was revealed today by Chief Medical Officer Dr Roshan Parasram during a Health Ministry briefing, and confirmed in the daily COVID update.

The death toll is now 145, and there are 309 active cases of the virus.

Since the start of the pandemic, T&T has now confirmed 8,072 cases of COVID-19.

Dr Parasram meanwhile says there have been case increases in certain counties of late.

Dr Parasram adds that the rise coincides with the decision back in February, to once again allow recreational sporting activities.

Government meanwhile has decided to once again prohibit recreational team sporting activities.

According to Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh, it comes as persons have been irresponsible.

National and international teams however will not be impacted.
