$3.6m bail for officers on misbehaviour charges

    Two police officers have been granted a combined $3.6 million in bail over several charges.

    PC Ronald Ransome and PC Rishi Mohan appeared before Justices of the Peace at the St Joseph Police Station.

    They have been charged with seven counts of misbehaviour in public office and unlawfully and dishonestly agreeing to accept and receive money.

    Police reports state that in April 2022, a man met officers at a location in North Trinidad and they allegedly solicited $700,000 to forego prosecution in a criminal matter.

    The PCs were arrested on July 26th, 2022 following an exercise by the Professional Standards Bureau – they are due in court this month.
