24 hour opening for groceries, supermarkets for Christmas

Between December 10th and January 3rd, groceries and supermarkets will be allowed to open continuously for 24 hours.

This announcement comes today from Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley, in anticipation of the upcoming Christmas shopping season.

All other COVID-19 restrictions remain in place at this time.

Dr Rowley also announced that schools will re-open virtually on January 4th.

The green light meanwhile has tentatively been given for those writing the CSEC January Exam, which runs from January 17th to February 4th.

As for face to face classes, Dr Rowley announced, that if the stats over the Christmas season remain low, these could resume, for some students, on February 8th.

These students will be: Forms 4 to 6 in Secondary School and Standard 5 in Primary School.

Staff and students however will be required to wear masks, and there will be a roving assessment team to ensure protocols are being enforced.
