The TTPS says 22 Venezuelan nationals have been detained for illegal entry into the country.
On Friday, police swooped down in the El Socorro area, and searched several homes, resulting in the arrests.
The 22 persons had no valid IDs or permits to reside in Trinidad and Tobago
The Venezuelans were taken for medical exams before being carried to the San Juan and Morvant Police Stations, while the Immigration Division was informed.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a Venezuelan national was arrested and 12.8 kilogrammes of marijuana seized, during an anti-crime exercise in Carenage between the hours of on Friday 23rd October.
