At 2PM today, the National Hurricane Centre has downgraded Gonzalo to a tropical depression, located about 80km northwest of T&T.
Following this advisory at 2:10PM, the T&T Met Service discontinued its storm warning, stating that tropical storm conditions are no longer expected.
However it says, while most of the activity has already passed T&T, lingering moisture and instability may still produce a few showers and the odd thunderstorm.
As such, persons are advised to assess their environment for safety concerns, don’t take unnecessary risks and remain vigilant.
The NHC says the system is now expected to move north-northwest tonight and tomorrow eventually dissipating by Sunday night.
Maximum sustained winds have decreased to 55km/h.
