Two babies in Tobago have tested positive for COVID-19, however their symptoms are said to be mild.

This was revealed during today’s health conference by Dr Joanne Paul, Head of the Paediatric Emergency Department at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.

She did not say when they tested positive, but provided an update on their conditions.

Dr Paul adds that while most children with the virus tend to have mild symptoms, there is still the possibility of some developing a condition called MIS-C (Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children).

Also speaking at the briefing was Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh, who gave statistics on how many children have so far tested positive for COVID-19, and how many developed MIS-C.
