19-year-old among two arrested following baby’s kidnapping


    A 19-year-old woman is among two persons arrested following the rescue of a kidnapped an eight-month-old baby.

    Police say the child was reportedly taken from her mother without permission from their Longdenville home around 9:10am yesterday.

    The mother, a Venezuela national, told officers that she later received a $20,000 ransom demand via a phone call.

    However, through collaborative efforts of several agencies, officers found the baby at Mc Inroy Street, Curepe around 10:50pm.

    The 19-year-old suspect from California and another person found in child’s company have been arrested.
