112 Venezuelans with criminal records found during registration… so far

More than 100 Venezuelans who registered to live and work in T&T for a year have been found to have criminal records.

Acting Prime Minister Colm Imbert says cards are only processed upon verification of identity and background checks by Interpol.

Speaking in Parliament, he gave an update on the process, almost three months after the end of registration.

Government has previously said that any Venezuelan with a criminal record will be deported in keeping with local immigration laws
