COVID-19 related deaths have risen to 83 with the passing of an elderly man with pre-existing medical conditions.
According to the Health Ministry’s 10AM Update, 51 additional persons have also tested positive for the virus.
Meanwhile 10 persons have been discharged from public health facilities, and there are 57 more recovered community cases.
Recovered community cases are persons who were in self-isolation at home after testing positive and subsequently met the discharge criteria.
There are now 1,784 active cases of COVID-19 in T&T.
Of these, 100 are hospitalized, including eight in the ICU and 10 in the HDU.
Since the start of the pandemic, T&T has confirmed 4,818 cases of the virus.
