Mathematics and English language have always been two of the more challenging subjects to pass – from GCE times to CXC times. So it is easy to understand why most Trinidadians cannot understand that Venezuela has a population of over 34 million while TT has about 1.4 million, plus 16,000 odd documented Venezuelans.
The English part is that if, say, two million move from the mainland to Trinidad not only the hospitals will be overwhelmed but so too will be schools, housing, food requirements, and so on. Are you prepared for that?
So to all the people, including the lawyers, who are in sympathy and encouraging the illegal visitors, I say think again. How many of you are willing to take in a family and support them? It is nice to go on the media and preach humanity but will you walk the extra mile of the talk?
