West Indies to play Rest of the World XI in charity match at Lord’s

The West Indies will play an ICC Rest of the World XI at Lord’s in a charity match, to raise money for parts of the Caribbean affected by Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

The match which will be played on May 31st later this year, is carded to have full International T20 status and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Proceeds from the match will go towards the restoration of cricket grounds in Dominica and Anguilla that were damaged by the Hurricanes.

CWI President Dave Cameron said in a statement that the Board has been considering how best to show support for the region in the most impactful way.

He also thanked the MCC for agreeing to host the match at Lord’s, and believes it will be a great platform to raise much needed funds.

Tickets meanwhile are priced between 20 and 60 pounds, with all children’s tickets set at 10 pounds, and are available for purchase on the Lord’s website: www.lords.org/tickets.
