UNC MP tells Govt charge tourists a fee to enter Stollmeyer’s Castle

The newly restored Stollmeyer’s Castle should be used to generate revenue for the tourism sector.

That’s the suggestion from UNC MP Ramona Ramdial after government spent $48 million to refurbish it.

She says world heritage and cultural sites promote and attract tourists through destination marketing and revenue generation by the charging of fees to enter and experience history and culture.

As such, Ms Ramdial wants the Tourism Minister to charge international tourists a fee to enter Stollmeyer’s Castle and then make all our local heritage sites self-sustainable while promoting this country’s tourism product.
