Two Claxton Bay brothers on $10.5M bail

Two Claxton Bay brothers have been granted a total of $10.5 million in bail.

Wayne and Joel Havelock stood before a Couva Magistrate yesterday to answer charges of cocaine and marijuana trafficking and possession of firearms and ammunition.

Another man, who was jointly charged, was advised to apply to a Judge in Chambers for bail.

The 3 accused were held on Friday 6th October, 2017 when their vehicle was searched by police along Southern Main Road, California.

Found inside was $23.1 million worth of cocaine, marijuana worth $25,000 and a pistol with a magazine containing 23 rounds of ammo.

Charges were laid by Inspector Ryan Baptiste of the Organised Crime and Intelligence Unit, on Tuesday.

The matter meanwhile was adjourned to Monday 23rd October, 2017.
