TTUTA wants electrical issues fixed at La Romaine Secondary School

TTUTA is advising all teachers of the La Romaine Secondary School to continue to refuse to work, until electrical problems are rectified.

It claims that the school has been plagued by at least three electrical fires in the last few years, with the most recent one occuring on May 17th 2018 in the Science Lab.

According to TTUTA, the cause of the fire was due faulty electrical wiring, with a follow up inspection revealing numerous electrical issues throughout the school.

It adds that an OSH Inspector visited the school and requested a Fire Certificate and Electrical Inspection Certificate, but to date this is yet to be produced.

The Association is reiterating its call for the Ministry to deal swiftly with the issue.
